The short version
EveryDay English keeps your progress on your own device. We do not ask for your name, and we do not sell your data or show ads.
What stays on your device
Your level, streak, points, saved cards, the stops you finished and your settings are saved in your browser. If you clear your browser data, they are gone. We cannot see them.
Simple counts we collect
To learn which parts of the app help people, the app sends small anonymous counts, such as "a lesson was finished" or "the plans screen was opened". Each browser gets a random code that is only used to count how many different visitors there are. It is not linked to your name, email or phone. We do not use cookies for this, and we do not use advertising trackers.
Microphone and speaking
The app asks to use your microphone only when you tap a speaking button. We do not record or keep your voice. To turn speech into text, your browser may send the audio to its own speech service (for example, Chrome uses Google's). That is handled by your browser under its own privacy rules. If you say no to the microphone, you can still use every other part of the app.
Hosting
The app is served by Cloudflare. Like any website, the host sees technical details such as your IP address when you load a page, to deliver it and to keep it safe. We do not use this to identify you.
Payments
Online checkout is not open yet, so we do not take payments or collect payment details today. When it opens, payments will be handled by a payment company. We will never see or store your full card number.
Backup code
If you tap "Back up my progress" in Profile, a copy of your progress (level, streak, points and saved cards) is stored on our server under a random code. Anyone who has the code can restore that progress, so keep it private. The copy is deleted automatically after 90 days without a refresh. It contains no name or email.
Accounts and email
You do not need an account today. If sign-in is added later, we will store only your email address to keep your progress safe, and we will update this page first.
Photos and fonts
Photos and fonts are part of the app, so loading them does not send your visit to other companies. Photo credits are in Profile.
Children
The app is made for teenagers and adults. If you are under 16, please use it together with a parent or guardian.
Your choices
To remove everything saved on your device, clear this site's data in your browser settings. To ask a question about your data, use the contact details below.
Changes
If we change this page in an important way, we will show the new date at the top.
